Moving data to a new server (need advise)

Hello, My partner and I have a dedicated server with Limestonenetworks and a couple of more with Liquidweb, and lately we've been getting DDOS on our LSN server so we're planning to get another server with Liquidweb and we already got an offer to get DDOS protection on all out account's servers. Now, one of the sites I'm running on the LSN server it's an image upload site (rcupload.com) and it currently has around 140,000 images uploaded, which is using 60GB's of out disk space. I'm also running a forum and a couple of other sites on the server and all together the server disk usage is 127.49 GB. We've transferred large amount of data before, but in this case we're talking of 140k separated files and I know if we use for example another server with windows to transfer all the data via FTP it will take forever to download all the images from the image hosting. I need an advise on what's the best way to transfer all this data, the fastest way possible. The LSN server has Webmin panel installed, and the new server we'll be getting from liquidweb will have the same webmin panel and server configuration. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know if webmin has any transferring features... but you can just use rsync.

When you say "ddos" what kind of attack is this? Im good at mitigating attacks however I can give you a heads up of what your looking for if you can tell me what attacks you are seeing and I can tell you if you even need mitigation. Thanks,

Thanks for the info, I will take a look at this. Well, we seem to be getting attacked using botnet, We are already filtering a lot of IP's and we know this is not the best way to handle this so since Liquidweb is now offering DDOS protection we decided to go for it. here's a list of 3k+ ips's we're already filtering: http://pastebin.com/MmjH4utM this is from an old attack, i don't have the newest attack ip's yet, my partner does.

Filtering a lot of ip's isn't the answer, find a pattern, source ports, packet length, packet content, connections per packet . etc. syn flood/ udp flood or established tcp flood? I will hit you up sounds like you could use some help .

Well, we're not very experienced with this stuff, this is the only thing we could do to prevent our server CPU from going to 100% and making our websites very slow. We're not being attacked anymore but, yes, we're still looking to move to liquidweb and have the DDOS protection. All we have on our LSN server is linux with the web server apps installes (apache, mysql, ftp, mail server) and CSF Firewall. Thanks for moving to the correct section

If you're just trying to protect a website / web service, your best bet would be to use cloudflare, and then get your hosting provider to change your IP address so the attackers won't know your real IP anymore, just the cloudflare protected IP.
