DNS query question

| Hi,
I'm running bind as DNS server on my linux server. If anyone do dig query on my DNS server, would it response if there is a zone file or would it forward it to external nameservers, if there is no local zone?

| I thought all digs would start looking at the DNS root servers like a-root.servers.net. I stand under correction though.

| If someone runs a dig query on your server (dig @yourserver.hostname domain.to.lookup), and the domain being looked up is not in one of your zones, it will simply return zero answers.

| If there's no local zone the behaviour depends on your config. You probably want to disable recursive queries.
