Anybody else experiencing regular server downtime problems with Goscomb during the last several weeks?

Dear Sir There was a partial network outage this morning due to an OSPF topology change sending VRRP on one of our Juniper Networks devices in to a loop. We called JTAC with a P1 case and it was decided to reboot the router which brought back connectivity. Before these routers were installed (this weekend) we had a number of issues with quagga which have now been resolved by removing all quagga boxes from the network. We expect to present 100% network availablility from now on and a 99.9% server uptime for your accounts.

I am really looking forward to that. While I appreciate a lot your support and effort in solving the problems so far your server has had problems 6 times during the last 40 days (that I have noticed), which is far too often.

Yes, we agree this is far too often. This is why we have invested in a pair of Juniper networks routers and upgrades to the server you are hosted on. To clarify, the outages you have suffered have not all been "server outages". The server you are hosted on has twice fallen victim to port flooding attacks consuming all resource on the server making HTTPD inaccessible. Since installing a number of apache modules to counteract these attacks and increasing the size of the memory in the server it has now stabalized. On top of this there have been a number of network outages caused by Quagga, which has now been removed from the network completely (other than in the capacity of a route collector). In short, we believe we have fixed all outstanding issues and expect to get back to our record of 100% availability.
