SSL error
Posted by Settoz, 02-20-2012, 02:14 PM |
I have installed Thawte SSL123 on my website and it works great with Firefox, but when I try to use Chrome I just get the error that it's not secure and am getting that red page with a warning..
I have tried to re-install the SSL but that didn't work well..
Any suggestions?

Sounds like a simple case of using wrong url (using www counts)

I have installed it without www and it works great in Firefox, (No error there and the "https" is green). But in Chrome (my main browser) it gives a big red page with a warning about unsecured website. Same with all computers I have tried.

This happens if your site still has codes referencing http say if I have a secure website https://abc.com and if my internal code has image src http://abc.com/images/log.png it will show the error in Chrome and other browsers.
So make sure that your codes doesn't have any http reference.

Have a check at SSL Tools. See if it passes all the checks.

Certificate chaining error - no Intermediate CAs
No valid Intermediate CAs were presented by the server - one or more Intermediate CAs are required for the certificate to be trusted by client systems.
The Intermediate CAs that are required for this SSL certificate can be downloaded from the following URL:

Yup, the chain is missing. (We missed this the first time we installed our SSL123 as well!)
Chrome only has Thawte's root CA, where Firefox has both the root and intermediate CA.
