Need reliable host with *nix, uncontrolled CGI, mySQL. SSH is a plus

Hi, I want to start a site that uses C++ cgi scripts (don't worry, I've got that done already). I need my host to be reliable, use *nix, allow running of unapproved cgi (I'm not letting them see my source code) and hopefully SSH access (so I can tell why my scripts won't run). I've looked around, but it's hard to find decent reviews. The most trusted one I found was from CNet and they recommended Aplus.net, but when I looked for other reviews (surprise, surprise), I found some *really* bad ones. I'm obviously looking for something cheap (I should be able to get a reliable host like this for less than $15/month, right?), but that is not my highest priority. Any recommendations? Thanks

What are your total bandwidth and space requirements?

Bandwidth I'm really not sure (this will be my first professional site). It should be relatively low, my site won't be serving much media content. Space, I think 100MB should be good enough. 1GB should keep me happy for a looooooong time.

You should really look at some entry level VPS plans. FDC has some starting at $19 a month.

To run a C++ script??? I don't think so, this guy is asking something that can perfectly fit on a shared account.

I don't know of too many shared hosts that allow shell access, though.

Yes, a lot does it . Maybe not all them publish it, but I know that many offer SSH upon request.

I've looked around and I think hostingzoom should be ok for me. Thought I'm not sure about the SSH access, the rest is fine. I'm going to give them a shot.

You may want to contact them. As I said, not many host advertise SSH, but many does offer if you ask to their support/sales
