Hello, You can easily use WHM move account feature if you have root access you can move all accounts at once, otherwise you need each account's password to move account by account, you have yet to have this feature active on your reseller hosting, if you don't then you will have to do full backups and restores. Cheers,

i don't have root access. when i do a backup can i send the backup directly to the new host in the root directory of that domain. i have tried by uploading the backup to my pc first and then back again but that takes to long so in other words if i do a full backup of the account and restore it in backup it will restore all files including databases etc. Thanks Johan

Hi, You can do full backup to remote FTP host and set the FTP of the new reseller. Cheers,

Alternatively, just ask your new host to transfer the accounts for you. It will be much easier for them to do it.

thanks for the reply . When i do a full backup pls tell me if i am doing this correct must i select remote ftp or secure copy when entering the ftp server can i use e.g. naple.anyserver.com/~myhost myhost being my username for the account. i haven't changed my NS yet not sure on the following; port not sure remote dir not sure Thanks fot the help much appreciated Johan

What I'd suggest is: 1. Make a temporary account on the new server (so you're not giving away the reseller password on the old server) 2. ftp server is name or ip address of the new server (naple.anyserver.com) 3. username is tempuser, password is tempuserspassword 4. port 21 5. remote dir / 6. Use the same for all accounts, then tell your new host the backups are in /home/tempuser (you don't need to create accounts in advance - restoring full backups will do that automatically) hth

Hi, Thanks for that info. we should pin a small tutorial on this subject as i have been batteling for hours to get my accounts across. i transfered more 20 accounts across in 30 min. so for my support i just tell them to restore all the backup files in that location and i don't have to give the user names and passwords for each account Thank you and Blessings Johan

it will save more your time, if you go to cPanel web site, and read its documentations

Yes that's correct - full backups contain everything including usernames / passwords.

Your new host would be able to do this quite easily if you have a full account backup. This would be your best approach for sure. -Jay

Not always since i did try. Any case this way i learn better and also that WHT is all about ( a community that cover all aspects of hosting)

Did you ask your host to help you transfer the accounts? This is the easiest way I think. The other ways will work to but more time consuming. The new host should be willing to help you do this and if you do not have alot of accounts they should not charge if they are a good company.
