5gb/50GB - How do u resell it?

Posted by AnmolTech, 12-07-2005, 11:41 PM
hi, Lets say I signed up for a reselling package that gives me 5GB diskspace and 50GB Bandwidth --- can u suggest to me how i should resell this and what sort of packages should i offer.? Is the above too "small" of a reseller package or should i buy a bigger reseller package? I am a beginner at this and just trying to ask questions and hope of getting some feedback. What kind of 'profit' could i be looking at assuming i have some sort of client flow, or is it too pre-mature to even think of profit at this stage? Thanks

Hi vj135, You really shouldnt look at the size of the packages - and bigger isnt necessarily better - at least not in the world of web hosting Ive seen people sell packages of 100 mb and 3 GB for several hundred dollars a month, and customers happily pay it. Its all about your value statement and what services you are offering around hosting. If you are offering straight hosting, and expect to compete on price alone, I fear you are in for a bit of a tough ride....

5GB diskspace and 50GB bandwidth? I'd make packages something like this: 200MB Diskspace/3GB Bandwidth - $4/month 500MB Diskspace/10GB Bandwidth - $10/month 750MB Diskspace/15GB Bandwidth - $15/month Youre profit all depends on what your paying per month for your reseller account, if you're going to be serious about reselling you might look into going with a provider who will offer you a little bit more bandwidth (unless of course you're getting the package you mentioned for a fairly good deal) Good luck!

CartikaHosting: What services should i offer around hosting -- would u please kindly elaborate. -Thanks agent420: This package 5GB/50GB is offered by hostgator for $24.95, although resellerzoom has a package 5GB/75GB for the same price. For people who are just starting out in the 'business' would it be better if i started out with a larger package say 10GB/100GB for $49.95? please reply THanks

no, start out with the minimum, you can always upgrade...

Take a look at Cartikahosting's site and you'll get to see a clear example of his advice (even though he's not selling from a reseller account). Last edited by ldcdc; 12-08-2005 at 11:19 AM.
