Configuring PHP on Apache ... PHP Not Responding

Posted by zhanng, 05-03-2011, 09:00 AM
Hello to all. I am not at all sure what to do at this point. My site was working perfectly fine, all except for Memcache. Last night, I decided to remove all instances of Memcache from the server and start from scratch. After removing memcache via Yum and Pecl, I edited the php.ini file, restarted apache ... and PHP was dead. I have no idea what is going on. Apache serves HTML fine, but not PHP. There are no errors in any of the httpd logs ... I am completely confused. Any assistance would be immensely appreciated. Please help. Dan

did you try removing PHP and re-installing it? Can't hurt at this point.

Not a bad idea. I just tried it ... unfortunately, didn't help. I also noticed that by doing this, my php.ini didn't change. Is there any chance that this is the cause?

What if I ask this question a bit differently ... what exactly ties PHP to Apache? If Apache is working, yet it isn't serving PHP pages, it seems that whatever links the two together may be broken. Or, am I thinking about this incorrectly?

Their could be a problem with your "httpd.conf"

I tried bringing up a backup of httpd.conf, but that didn't work either.
