The reason why i am looking to move is due to my current windows reseller provider will not install any type of url rewrite to their server. can anyone suggest some reseller accounts that have url rewrite. windows hosting url rewrite both php/asp mysql and access databases thanks

You might include more info, such as how much you would like to pay and so on. Also, check the offers section and HostQuote option here at WHT.

You may want to consider hostnexus - posted above - solid company and Ive been really impressed with the way they have handled themselves publicly.. Another great candidate is monsterhosting.ca - we share a bunch of customers with them and everyone of them are pleased with their service....

PhillipH, url rewrite on windows is not very common, except on asp.net where many people utlize it with dotnetnuke. You won't find MANY resellers that have urlrewrite software installed on their services, as it is typically pricey and has some stabliity issues from my experience(I have not taken the time to check all available software, just what I have tried doesn't impress).

ok well yes, kind of agree with some of that. i guess the only thing that has been stopping me from using linux for my clients, is the possible asp aspect. im skilled in using ms access, and to be honest im not sure how different that is to linux asp if there is little difference i may move onto linux, im not a newbie to linux btw, just am when it comes to using asp on it. if someone can equal mkoh's features with asp on it, then i would be very interested to hear from them. But must have very good support!! I would even pay a little more just for added support.

phillip, Access DB's won't be supported in linux asp, asp on linux is not VB/VBScript compatible either, it is mostly perl, or if using sunone, some standard asp, but you won't be happy with it, and it does not support Access either. However, I would highly recommend you not use access, it is a terible plaform for websites and will cause you more grief than help if you ever have a mildly sucessful site.

Here is a decent solution we have running seamlessly on a test server - though, must admit, Im a litte concerned about adding this to a windows server in our hsphere cluster - and havent tested it at all.... http://www.seoconsultants.com/windows/isapi/

Sorry PhillipH, that post wasnt necessarily for you, rather it was for Stephen... I dont think I ever questioned whether you knew what url rewrite was - though, sorry if I gave you that impression...

PhillipH, no problem, we all have times that something we say doesn't come out right, quite often for me. I knew was urlrewrite was, but have just not had great success with it being utilized in a shared enviroment.
