Cheap solution for backing up a large website

If I had a video community like Youtube and I want to backup thousands of video files (lets say like 10 tb of video files), what's the cheapest solution for me? Perhaps amazon s3?

A server with a few 2tb drives is probably your best bet. Or you could ask bqbackups for a custom plan, they seem to be reasonably priced and well regarded. I would say amazon s3 is just too expensive for that sort of thing, even though it's clearly marketed for your use case.

I think 10 TB would cost quite a lot no matter where you go, but getting something like a NAS on a local network would probably be a good solution for this size. It would be scalable and you won't have to worry about bandwidth and you would be able to easily make incremental backups.

Yes scaleability is important also. Because it won't start off as 10tb it will probably be like 1 tb, then as more people upload videos, it will steadily increase.

If you have the budget why not simply get more systems and mirror your content? Giving you backups and also slightly more HA/redundancy.

If you've a 100mbps internet speed on your local pc then best option is buy a 2 - 3 hard disk - 30TB HD or more..(cheapest option)
