Hello, I am actually a webhosting reseller. I purchased a reseller plan for webhoting, now I want to run ASP on my Linux server (mears same package) but I can't understand how can I do this. Please help and guide me how may I do this. Thank

You can't install it onto your reseller plan, and there isn't a full version of ASP available for the linux operating system as it is a windows-based language. There are VERSIONS of ASP (not fully functional, but have most of the major functions) such as Chillisoft ASP. However, if you want to use the full version of ASP you need a windows-based server.

chilisoft asp is for linux but i heard its somewhere around $500 per processor

I heard Apache ASP will be available on the Linux server. Which may nearly function as ASP !!!!! Since i am new to the hosting i didn't know it exactly.......

Remember most people who want to use ASP also want support for either Microsoft Access or Microsoft SQL Server and not simply ASP. You would probably be better sourcing a Windows hosting / reseller provider.

The Apache ASP is actually quite restricted compared to the full-blown version which is on the Windows Server. Its support on Linux is no point considering and you be better off using PHP on Linux.

Word of advice...been there done that...if you are programming ASP get on a Windows box. If you have PHP on the brain, go with Linux. It's like cramming a screw driver in the ignition of a car.....depending on the car it might just work

1. Since you are just a reseller, you can't install any software on the server. Therefore, even if there is a powerful program that will run ASP, you can't install it at all. Unless you buy the software for your provider and ask them to install it. This makes the whole server users are able to use the feature, too. 2. So far Sun Chillisoft is the only one that is reliable. It supports only ASP 3.0, VBScript 5.5, JScript 5.5, XML, and Java. It is not cheap as it prices US$495.00/license for a Single server. 3. Despite the US$495.00 license fee, I would recommend you to get a Windows Reseller account instead. It is far cheaper than playing around with the software.

Hello, Thanks all for replying. Now I want to purchase ASP reseller pane but I am little bit confused. Actually there are number of web hosts that are providing web hosting reseller plans so I am confused to choose that who is cheep and reliable in his services. Any one can recommends a cheep and reliable web host for ASP reseller plan. Thanks
