Spam cannibal / ptr question

I was running an IP check on spamcannibal.org It shows blocked because of this reason: no reverse DNS, MX host should have rDNS - RFC1912 2.1 Is it actually possible to setup some kind of generic ptr records on IPs, even if they are assigned to dedicated server clients?

Ask your host and they will help you setup rDNS for your server's IP

As long as what you want to setup for PTR doesn't raise any red flags with your provider, the should setup anything you want. If you are the provider, simply fill out all of your IP end octets in your in-addr.arpa for that block, put in the appropriate IP octet + PTR entry you want to set. There are tools to do this, but I commonly use excel w/ fill, cut n paste, increment PTR entries, then just copy and paste into your in-addr.arpa zone for that bock. Reload name server. Done.
