Posted by petisnnake, 12-21-2008, 08:51 PM Need some help with my dedicated server Hello everybody, recently i purchased a dedicated server with limestonenetworks at an i think reasonable price (160$ /month for 8gb ddr2, core 2 quad q9300 etc) this however without knowing that there is no managed service at this company. so my server knowledge being 0, i must start learning to configure the server from scratch. (but its also a good opportunity to start learning) i tried moving a website of mine from the old server to this one but havent quite succedeed yet.I have set the nameservers at my domains registrar to ns1.limestonenetworks.com ns2.lime -==- ns3.lime -==- . Then i created an account , and assigned www.mydomain.com to it , and lastly i added the domain to my DNS list at the main non-cpanel control panel (at the main website: www.limestonenetworks.com). but it still isnt quite working , can someone please tell me what else i need to do? things like Add an A entry, and BIND really confused me. I have a feeling that part of my server is set up in a way that i have my own DNS's and the other half is set up as having the default limestone DNS's. Thanks in advance
