Posted by pedrojose, 09-05-2008, 01:05 AM hello everyone, i just want to know if: When we are making a new website based on ecommerce scripts like oscommerce, zencart, or magento, can we install a "test" site on my PC and make the all website, taking advantage of the speed adding products with online stores for example. And migrate the all website to the webserver or create a new install at the webserver and then import the DATABASE and the THEMES/SKINS folders to the brand new install. So can this be possible? If so can you please give me some advice and software to do this? thanks
Posted by activelobby4u, 09-05-2008, 06:44 AM yes you could do that . However there is no easy way to it as the file paths on your local machine and your host server may be wrong. The method of migraion is 1. Transfer the files manually 2. Restore the database 3. Change the config to match the server Unfortunately there is no tool to automate this process
