Hi, Have you done any adjustments to your MySQL (my.cnf) ? What type of plugins are yo running? Traffic? Is the theme simple or complex? Is the issue sudden? Have you made any changes...added new plugins? Is this VPS to low for you needs (512mb)?

Images shows CPU is normal, so this is an issue with the disk caching. Please refer: http://www.linuxatemyram.com/

WordPress required at least 128MB RAM and you have 500MB RAM to your server to run all your virtual applications. Depending on your database size and post you have added you need to configure a cache for Wordpress installation OR you can improve WordPress Performance on LAMP software stack with optimizing your WordPress. http://goo.gl/VF8yHc

Check the access logs of your website and make sure that there is no attacks towards this site like wp-login and xmlrpc. Also check the mysql process which running at the time of memory spike.

1. Try to disable your plugin one by one, 2. Is the database (my.cnf) has been try to optimization?

Dear diaz212, I suggest you to upgrade your server RAM. you are having only 490 MB RAM and lots of service running there .

The memory usage seems to be fine. Consider to upgrade the RAM; 498 MB is very less!
