ServerHub VPS Review

Posted by JCHH, 09-11-2016, 02:12 AM
So I needed a VPS with a good amount of storage so I can use it as my backup server. I saw ServerHub's pricing, and decided to go with them. For ~$8 quarterly for 250GB Cached-SSD, it's definitely worth it. ServerHub has got great pricing for what they offer. The IO speeds are fast, (around 700-800mb/s), network speeds are great, and their website panel is easy to use. The only part I can put them at fault is their support. A week ago, I had sent an email to ServerHub requesting them to upgrade my VPS. We discussed my available options, and they stopped replying to me. I only had about 20GB storage left, and so I needed to have it upgraded to store some more files. The plan I was on, only included 500GB bandwidth, and since I'm constantly having rsync backup the files, that bandwidth will be used up fast. However, 8+ days later, ServerHub decides to continue ignoring my ticket. Every 2-3 days, I contact their live support, and they tell me the same, they'll notify their sales team to read the ticket. Yet, no responses. Today, my VPS finally exceeded 500GB bandwidth, therefore it was suspended. Well what can I do? I can't upgrade the VPS myself through their client portal, I HAVE to contact them. I ask their support team about an upgrade, and they tell me to open a sales ticket. Of course, I get extremely mad because they're telling me to open a sales ticket, which I have and is still open for the past 8 days, and I can't access my server until one of their sales agent decides to respond to me. Overall, if you're looking to go with ServerHub, they're absolutely terrific. Just know that you won't receive the best support.

Sorry to see that you're having issues with your provider. It might have been nice if support could have recognised the issue and pushed for a resolution before it came to the point of your VPS being suspended. Proactive vs reactive. Hopefully @JohnSH will be along to resolve your issues very soon, he's a good guy.

You choose different hosting provider Or buy a dedicated server. You have full control over your resource what you are using. You get good bandwidth in dedicated server instead of vps server your. And you get performance also.

I've got my own servers colocated in Psychz, and since Psychz and ServerHub are both in Carrier1, I decided to just give ServerHub a shot as I needed somewhere to backup my files from my own servers. ServerHub's servers aren't bad at all, it's just their support needs improvement.

It's not letting me send a PM here, but my ticket ID is 450705. If you could check that out, it'd be great.
