Good Managed VPS provider for Indian users

Posted by kris23, 02-18-2016, 01:23 PM
Hi, here is my situation... Currently all (around 20) my Wordpress based sites draws around 2,000 unique visitors per day and my current VPS location is UK. I am with my current VPS provider from more than 2 years, though i do not have any complaint about them regarding support, lately (from few months) all my websites are loading very slowly. Most of the time memory usage is less than 40% (off 2GB RAM) when i checked in SolusVM panel. I considered a2hosting, as they now have a data center in Singapore. But when i ping tested their SG server IP address, which i got from their live chat support, i always got more than 300ms response time, which i usually get to any US based server. To Siteground SG servers i get around 70ms which is good but they give only 20GB disk space (i need around 40GB in that budget range). So basically my requirements are RAM 2GB Space 40 GB SSD (considering SSD gives better results for MySQL processes) Budget Around 50$ My first choice will be Singapore, then Europe as most of my users are from India. Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

I've had some experience with Linode in Singapore in the past and they were really nice EDIT: I totally missed that you're looking for a managed provider and their managed service is way out of your budget.~ Sorry. Delete this maybe? Last edited by BunnySpeed; 02-18-2016 at 06:07 PM.

There are some good offers in Singapore at the moment that would be within your budget for fully managed - but just one question: do you mind which control panel is offered?

@net - Thanks for the suggestion @Layershift Damien - I am looking for WHM/cPanel

How about HostDime India? http://www.hostdime.in/

Thanks Dustin Cisneros for the suggestion. Bandwidth is still a costlier thing in India (that's why i preferred Singapore). May be that is the reason, even hostdime's highest plan offers only 300GB bandwidth. Even that much is enough for me now, but if i outgrow that limit, they do not have any other option.

WebFaction have a Singapore location, I think they would be a very good fit in this scenario. It's not quite a VPS, you don't have root access, you leave them to manage security etc, but its perfect for multiple sites and plenty of support docs.

So what is your exact bandwidth requirement?

@MattF - Thanks for suggestion, will definitely look into it, @HostersGlobe - Currently all my sites consumes less than 200GB, so 500GB is enough after considering the future growth of all sites.

There are quite a few growing providers in Asia who should be able to help - however, since you need managed, do ensure that you get a provider who has solid management plan (should include daily backups, monitoring, 24/7 live support - chat + ticket, security updates / patches application along with regular audit of server). You might need to remain little flexible with your budget as Asia on the whole is a costly market. Good luck with your search!

For Europe I'd highly recommend http://knownsrv.com

Thanks Softsys Hosting, Ticko0 for good Suggestions. After checking multiple Singapore based servers and their recent reviews, I may probably have to stick with any Europe VPS for a while. I am considering Futurehosting, 247-host (because those two only have Eu location among stickied threads in VPS offers). Any latest reviews about these hosts or any other suggestions ?
