As long as the backup file is a cPanel file, then you can easily restore it. Is this what you meant?

Home » Backup » Restore a Full Backup/cpmove File You may need to rename the file in some cases.

I was referring to gk-root restore manager - http://restoremanager.gk-root.com/. If it's not needed anymore then great. I will have to disable it for now as it does not work on the new backup system

You should be able to use cpanel's restore option (restore a full backup) as Lanka pointed out, it's quick and painless.

If you wish to restore entire account (considering you have generated backup using cPanel), you can restore it directly from WHM but you cannot restore individual files from WHM restore option. Another option is, you can restore databases or entire home directory files from cPanel. Login to certain account and go to Backups.
