I am with ResellerClub, currently based in the US and have a portfolio of around 4000 domains. I want to offer hosting now and am looking at options. I have a few customers who are hosted with ResellerClub. i need more flexibility in the packaging. My clients are small to medium sized businesses. Obviously value for money is a MUST!! My primary concern is service. Any ideas??

With that many domains i would seriously start looking if it is feasible to run your own server(s) instead of reselling. If you do this with a full managed company you should have about the same services. What exactly do you mean with more flexibility in the packaging (sorry i am not familiar with resellerclub's offer) ?

not all my clients are looking to host with me. also having my own servers doesn't seem feasible rite now. ResellerClub offers only one plan for me to sell with unlimited space and bandwidth for a single domain.

Perhaps you could look into getting a VPS instead of jumping straight to your own dedicated server? It would keep prices down yet offering you the power you need.

I also recommend a VPS over just skipping directly to a Dedicated. Search around and I am sure you will find something you like.

As there are only few customer hosted with you, depending on their traffic & resource usage you may get a managed vps within $30-$40/ month. You may check vps section under advertising folder.

I'll go against the trend here and say that a reseller account (or more once that's full) may be a workable solution, at least for a while. But that may just be a knee jerk reaction on my part, as I'm not a fan of "go for a VPS" suggestions when I see no clear need for one. How many hosting customers are you expecting in the short to mid term?

In that case maybe a normal reseller hosting package will indeed to the trick; in the end it all comes down to your budget and your needs; so you can find the right price match. In my previous advise i had the impression you wanted to host 4000 domains on a machine; which might get you quickly to a dedicated server (although it of course also depends on the type of sites).

i'm starting real small, so short to midterm i'd probably be looking at around 500 clients. keeping that in mind, i feel a reseller account should be more than enough. But the whole overselling bit is getting to me. So, i need someone with flexible upgrades!

Check the reseller section, may also look into Hostdime.Com/Surpasshosting.com for reseller accounts as well. Same company but different levels of support. Best of luck in your search!

500 clients is not real small well at least depending on their websites; I dont think you should connect the total of customers to the size of your business in any way; i.e. 1 website could already need a dedicated server; on the other hand if they are very basic accounts it could be more as sufficient to have a small reseller account. It is all about finding the right mix; and the right reseller partner for your sites. Because in the end they can make or break your company by providing great or horrible solutions.

That would be rather hard to find as cPanel is only available on Linux but there are other control-panels which offer a mix like you seem to look for. Try to look at i.e. h-sphere solutions.

Try to do a search on then; and find some reviews, that gives you a general idea about their services. Remember to read review threads to the end and not just the first post, often the host responds on them as well. Although i do not think they fit your windows request, as far as i know they offer cPanel based hosting. But the best way is to contact them and find out.

Go with a hosting company this has reputation and avoid newly opened ones.
