Secondary Reseller Account - Similar to host gator - NEEDED

Posted by talkhostrunner, 12-04-2007, 01:27 AM
So I am in the market for a simple CPANEL based reseller account. Don't need more than possibly 4GB or so and want to put at least 10 domains on it. This is a secondary account so I don't want to spend more than $10 per month on it. ResellerZoom seems to have a decent offer at $6.95. Any others recommended?

Are you using this secondary account as some sort of backup? If not, why not getting a 2nd RZ account? or even HostGator like you suggested. If you take a look in the reseller hosting section, there are plenty of hosts that will be able to accommodate you.

No, this will be used for some secondary domains. I am trying to separate them for ip and email purposes, so that is why I am looking for a decent host that will have a good enough service. I do not have ResellerZoom yet, but am considering them. HostGator's cheapest plan is $25 per month and I don't want to spend that. RZ has a good plan for $6.95, but the question is how good is this plan?

They have a fairly good reputation on this forum. I don't think support is any different for each plan so I'd say give it a try

RZ's budget plan are good, however their servers are sometimes slow, because they host more accounts than on advanced plans. I suggest you go with their Advanced One plan, if you need peace of mind. However, if you do not need performance, you could give them a go.

RZ will be a good option to have a try. May be you can have a quick search in the forum which will give you recent reviews about them. I have heard that their budget servers are a little slow. But that is not an isue, because when you are paying less you cannot ask for more. You will get for what you pay. So when you go for cheaper, obviously you have to compromise on something else. This will happen with any host when you look for plans just based on price.

There's no live support with their budget reseller hosting though. The budget "servers" specific issues are one issue, another is the usage they expect from your account: http://resellerzoom.com/aup.shtml These are accounts for mainly static websites with little to no usage spikes. I'd contact them, explain my site's usage in detail, and ask for confirmation that based on their experience I would fare fine on such an account.

If your sites are html based or get low traffic when you maybe choose one of resellerzoom budget reseller packages. But I saw some bad reviews about their budget packages on WHT and the Web. So I recommend Surpasshosting as your budget. Their services better than most other companies(cheap costs, good uptime, fast servers, 24/7 fast support and rich features).

As others have said the RZ budget account is a low cost BUDGET account. Fine if you have only a handful of very low traffic/resource websites. Only way to know for sure is to give them a try.

Personally, I think you're asking for trouble if you're looking to host multiple domains for under $10 per month, but I understand a budget is a budget. Does RZ offer a money back guarantee? If so, why not try them out on a domain or two for a few weeks and see how it goes?
