Suggest me a UK Reseller

Posted by sabian1982, 11-16-2006, 09:41 AM
Hi, Right the host im in is pretty naff (lets me honest) and quite a while ago i decided id start my own web host with a reseller account. Ive got a name, ive got a holding page/domain and ive even designed the site and done a bit of link building. I dont go in for all that building and maintaining my own server stuff due to my hardware limit being only able to add additional memory to my computer. I have a budget of around £500ish a year, want something where i can set up multiple accounts, allocate specific bandwidth, webspace, # of allocated domains per account, # of mysql databases, # of email accounts - pretty much what you'd expect from a reseller account. Im not fussed about having any sort of predefined payment reseller system to use for my clients as i can build this myself. Im too worried about capped bandwidth or webspace however i would like everything else to be unlimited for the account - ie number of domains, mysql databases etc that i can allocate. As i am from the UK and want to target my hosting mainly via word of mouth towards clients in my immediate area id like a reseller host located in the UK. I was looking at BPWeb initially however lack of reviews is just as bad as bad reviews in my view... Your suggestions please?

I haven't used any of these personally for reseller hosting but clook.net and UnitedHosting.co.uk have good reputations. A client of mine is hosted at United and the service has been great. Resellerzoom has got a good reputation around here, and they have recently started selling UK reseller accounts too. That's 3 to take a look at, -Tim

Hi , Take a look at: http://www.unitedhosting.co.uk/ and http://www.A2B2.com You can find more information about both companies by searching Forum2 (as well as WHT). The owners of both companies are active members of WHT and Forum2. They both seem to be good guys, and appear to provide quality web hosting services. My personal experiences with Rus of A2B2 have all been very positive. Good luck in your search! EDIT: I forgot to mention http://www.Clook.co.uk - they provide top notch reseller services in the UK.

hey try heartinternet.co.uk

Heat have a bit of a bad rap - by the sounds of it they are good for static sites, but not so good for database driven stuff. Im leaning towards unitedhosting.co.uk at the moment...

Really why do you say that? relatively new to this so excuse the stupid question?

No one can provide unlimited bandwidth and diskspace. Heart are for people who don't know unlimited doesn't exist. eg. Heart would not be allowed to advertise their services on here.

I also dont like the low/cheap budget idea any more. Im currently with a low budget host, ive now got to the stage where my sites can fund my host, i therefore want to pay more and recieve a better quality of service. Unitedhosting.co.uk could be step up i need as i am looking to spend a lot more than i do currently - will obviously take a bit more of a look around to see how well they have been reviewed... i have been in contact with their sales department and they have given me a quote for my specific requirements which is just the budget im looking for really...

Relatively new to this? yet you appear to be running your own hosting company which also has unlimited bandwidth/webspace lol

Heart are terrible.. Was with them for 2 months.. Got rid of as soon as I could. Server downtime.. Server process forever maxed.. network speccy... Glad I moved.. My websites at best had 87% uptime in those 2 months.
