Clustered file system between two web servers?

Hello, I'm trying to come up with a few options for a simple load balanced web server setup. The issue is that both servers have to have particular synchronized folders such as "user uploads". In the past I have attached iSCSI storage backends for shared storage. However, this isn't in my client's budget so aside from manual file synchronization , does anyone have any recommendations that do NOT sacrifice redundancy? I've been looking at clustered file systems like HFS, but I was hoping someone out there had personal experience with a specific method. Thanks!

Without using a SAN of some kind, you're pretty much stuck doing file synchronization. I would would think that rsync running out of a cron job with handle this.

A cronjob with rsync is not ideal, instead use lsyncd

I've had decent results with GlusterFS. There is also Lustre, but don't have enough experience with it to recommend. If you're just looking for failover, DRBD is a solid setup as well.
