Force ssl wont work

Posted by mcdl, 12-13-2011, 03:26 AM
I am running centos with apache and using htaccess to force ssl on my hostname, however running over multiple machines only one of my hostnames are forced to SSL. For example: https://host1.host.com <--- is forced On another machine http://host2.host.com <--- isn't forced, is there some configuration in http.conf that I'm missing?

That would be my guess. Try comparing the configuration files. Assuming it's the same setup on both machines, why not copy the configuration file from the one working to the one that's not working. Even if its just a quick test.

i'm not sure i fully understand... but, are you missing some rewrite rules from the host2.host.com?

Assuming SSL and your .htaccess line in your httpd.conf is setup correctly on both hosts I would check both .htaccess files and compare settings.
