How safe is it to share credentials with a company when its a live server with actual code running on it? Who are the trustworthy companies? Need hardening of server running some intense custom coded web apps.

You can search the webhosting talk wiki and find some reputed companies. Also you can use goolge to find the feed backups. Please see here http://www.webhostingtalk.com/wiki/C...ver_management Actually you don't need to worry about a reputed company , they won't abuse your codes. PS: If you still afraid of the script coding may be you can encode it using ioncube encoder and be safe

Just make sure you do thorough research on any server management company. Read some reviews on Web Hosting Talk and you should be fine. Steve from Rack911 has been popular around here.

Yes I've heard a lot about rack911. Like I said, these are production servers & I'm scared about the code leaking. IPRs are always a concern.

Always go with some reputed companies at least they are in hosting support for 2 years. There are plenty of choices available. Try to find any Companies locally available at your location. Most of companies are US or India based.

Really? We have our office in Bombay, any good providers there who can work onsite? That would be perfect.

A reputable company won't leak code as they would not want to affect their reputation. On the slip side, an insecure server will leak code if compromised.

If your office in Bombay then you will have a wide choice of Indian companies there http://www.webhostingtalk.com/wiki/C...ver_management Most seems from the location Kerala. Is it near to you. I know a few companies among them where we had a good experience in server initial setup and hardening.
